Claudette Harper - Super Work at the Lloydminster Native Friendship Centre
We recognized a remarkable community ambassador last night at the City Council Meeting. Claudette Harper, Executive Director and 27 year veteran of the Lloydminster Native Friendship Centre, was honoured for her outstanding committment to community service. Now located at 4602-49th Avenue, the old library, the Centre first started with a small group of individuals who recognized a need for support for people of all ethnicity. Today, the Centre has over 200 members and 11 board members. Interestingly, the phone number was originally Mrs. Harper's home number, which she had transferred to the Centre.

Claudette has not only given 27 years of commitment to serving others, she has dedicated herself and her team to promoting cultural awareness in a manner that often has built hope where little existed, demonstrated caring when it wasn't expected, and frequently lit a light that pointed to a brighter future for many.

Thank you to Claudette for the special difference that you make to each person who visits the Native Friendship Centre and for 27 years of carrying an incredible loan on your shoulders for this important non-profit charitable organization. The difference you have made has not gone unnoticed!

The Lloydminster Native Friendship Centre performs a range of essential community services that are either unaddressed or under-addressed by other agencies and departments.
